Fix Microphone Permission Issues for Roleplay Sessions

If the AI agent is not responding during a roleplay session, the most common reason is that microphone access was denied when the browser first requested permission.

Outdoo requires microphone access to capture your voice and allow the agent to respond in real time. If permission was accidentally blocked, follow the steps below to re-enable microphone access in your browser.


Google Chrome

  1. Open the roleplay page in Chrome.
  2. Click the lock icon or site settings icon next to the address bar.
  3. Find Microphone in the permissions list.
  4. Change the setting to Allow.
  5. Refresh the page and start the roleplay again.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open the roleplay page in Firefox.
  2. Click the lock icon beside the website URL.
  3. Select Connection Secure → More Information → Permissions.
  4. Locate Use the Microphone.
  5. Uncheck Use Default if needed and select Allow.
  6. Refresh the page.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open the roleplay page in Edge.
  2. Click the lock icon next to the URL.
  3. Open Permissions for this site.
  4. Set Microphone permission to Allow.
  5. Reload the page.

Brave Browser

  1. Open the roleplay page in Brave.
  2. Click the lock icon in the address bar.
  3. Open Site settings.
  4. Find Microphone and change it to Allow.
  5. Refresh the page and try again.

Safari (Mac)

  1. Open Safari and go to the roleplay page.
  2. In the top menu, click Safari → Settings for This Website.
  3. Find Microphone.
  4. Set it to Allow.
  5. Refresh the page.

If the issue continues:

  • Open Safari → Settings → Websites → Microphone
  • Make sure the website is set to Allow

Still Not Working?

Try the following:

  • Make sure your microphone is connected and working
  • Close other apps that may be using the microphone
  • Restart your browser
  • Rejoin the roleplay session after refreshing the page

Once microphone access is enabled, the AI agent should respond normally during the conversation.
