Call transcripts

Learn how to view, search, and edit call transcripts in Outdoo. Understand transcript accuracy factors and how to download transcripts for your records.

Outdoo automatically transcribes every recorded call. Transcripts are available on the call page immediately after processing completes, typically within a few minutes of the call ending.

Viewing a transcript

Open any call and click the Transcript tab on the left panel. The transcript appears beside the recording. As the audio plays, the current line is highlighted in the transcript so you can follow along. You can also click any line in the transcript to jump to that point in the recording.

Searching within a transcript

Use the search bar at the top of the Transcript tab to find a specific word or phrase. Outdoo highlights every instance in the transcript and lets you jump between matches.

Editing speaker labels

Outdoo assigns speaker labels automatically using voice separation. If the labels are incorrect — for example, two speakers assigned to the same label — you can edit them from the transcript. Click on a speaker label to change it. This updates the label throughout the transcript, not just at that point.

Only the call owner (host), a manager, or an admin can edit speaker labels and other transcript details.

Transcript accuracy

Transcript accuracy depends on audio quality, accent, and whether voice fingerprinting is set up. Calls recorded directly through a supported dialer or Outdoo's call recording generally produce more accurate transcripts than uploaded files. Background noise, multiple simultaneous speakers, and low-quality audio are the most common causes of errors.

For languages other than English, Outdoo supports hyper-optimized transcription for French, Spanish, German, and others. Language preference is set per user in Settings > People Settings > Team Management.

Downloading a transcript

Click the action menu in the top-right corner of the call page. Select Download > Transcript to save the transcript as a file. If the transcript has been translated, the downloaded version will be in the translated language.

Translations

Outdoo can translate call transcripts into other languages for review. The translation does not replace the original — both the source transcript and the translated version are available on the call page.
