User roles and permissions guide

Learn how Outdoo's role-based access control works and which permissions each role has. Understand how to assign roles in your workspace to control feature access.

Outdoo uses role-based access control. Each user is assigned one role that determines which sections of the product they can see and what actions they can take. Roles are assigned per workspace — a user can have different roles in different workspaces if your organization uses multiple.

Go to Settings > People Settings > Team Management to view and update roles.

Roles

Admin

Full access to all features and all company settings — integrations, billing, authentication, workspaces, and user management. Assign this role to account owners and technical administrators who need to configure the platform.

Tech Admin

Same access as Admin. This role is intended for IT or operations contacts who manage platform-level configuration, integrations, and security settings without being involved in day-to-day sales operations.

Manager

Access to all product features — conversations, coaching, insights, opportunities, and performance data — but not company-level settings like billing, authentication, or workspace configuration. Assign this role to team leads and department heads who need to coach, review performance, and run pipeline reviews.

RevOps / SalesOps

Access to all business-critical features including insights, opportunities, and coaching data, but not company settings. These roles are suited for operations and enablement functions that need full data visibility and the ability to configure scorecards, trackers, and playbooks, but should not manage billing or user provisioning.

Sales Enablement

Access to most features with a focus on training and content — can create and manage roleplay agents, courses, scorecards, and library content. Limited access to company configuration settings.

Employee

Access to their own conversations, pipeline (Opportunities > Pipelines view only), and roleplay practice. Cannot access coaching analytics for others, performance dashboards, or company settings. This is the standard role for individual contributors — account executives, SDRs, and customer success managers.

Viewer

Read-only access to conversations and opportunities (Pipelines view). Cannot make changes, leave coaching notes, or access settings. Use this for leadership or advisors who need visibility without operational involvement.

Billing

Access limited to the home dashboard and company billing settings. No access to conversations, opportunities, or coaching features. Assign to finance contacts who handle invoicing without being product users.
