Upload a call recording

Learn how to manually upload call recordings to Outdoo for transcription and AI analysis, including supported file formats, upload limits, and what to expect from the analysis.

If you have a call recording that was not captured by Outdoo — for example, an older call you want reviewed, or a meeting recorded outside of a connected dialer — you can upload it manually. Outdoo will transcribe and analyse it the same way it handles live-captured calls.

How to upload

  • Go to the Home page.
  • In the Shortcuts section, click Upload a Call.
  • Select where the file is coming from: your computer, Google Drive, OneDrive, OneDrive Business, Box, or a public URL.
  • Select or paste the file, then confirm the upload.
  • The call is queued for processing and will appear in your Conversations list within about 10 minutes.

Limits and file requirements

  • You can upload up to 10 files at a time.
  • Maximum file size is 1 GB per file.
  • Accepted formats include standard audio and video file types (MP3, MP4, M4A, WAV, and similar).

What to expect from uploaded calls

Uploaded calls produce transcripts and AI analysis, but the accuracy of the analysis is lower than for calls captured through a connected dialer. Captured calls include participant metadata, CRM context, and speaker identification from voice fingerprinting — uploaded files typically have none of that, so the AI works with the audio alone. Expect around 59% accuracy on AI-generated insights for uploaded calls compared to live-captured calls.

For best results, upload the highest-quality audio available and name the file clearly so you can find it in Conversations later.
