Course certifications

Learn how course certifications work in Outdoo, including how learners access their certificates and how managers enable certifications on courses.

When a learner meets the passing criteria for a course, Outdoo automatically generates a certificate. The certificate is branded with your organization's name, includes the learner's name, the course name, completion date, and a unique verification ID.

For learners: accessing your certificate

Once you complete a course, go to Certificates & Accomplishments in your profile. Your earned certificates appear there. You can:

  • Download the certificate as a PDF
  • Generate a shareable verification link that others can use to confirm the certification is genuine
  • Share directly to LinkedIn or other networks

You do not need to submit anything or wait for approval — the certificate is issued automatically when you pass.

For managers: enabling certifications on a course

Certifications are opt-in at the course level. To enable them:

  • Go to Manage > Courses and open the course.
  • Go to Certification Settings (or open Edit Course if the tab is not visible).
  • Toggle certification on and enter a certificate title — for example, "Advanced Discovery Certification."
  • Add a description if you want to include context about what the certification covers.
  • Save the settings.

Certificates will be issued automatically to anyone who meets the course's passing criteria going forward. Learners who already passed before certification was enabled will not receive a retroactive certificate unless you manually award one.

Viewing team certifications

Managers can see which team members have earned certifications from the course details page. Filter by batch or date range to track completion across cohorts.
