Customise score colours
Outdoo colours scores red, amber, or green so you can read a scorecard or a performance table at a glance. Those colours, and the score ranges behind them, can be changed to match how your organisation grades performance.
This is set up for you by the Outdoo team. There is no self-serve control for it yet — contact support@outdoo.ai with the ranges and colours you want and we'll apply them to your workspace.
Where the colours appear
The setting is not per-page. Once applied, it drives the score colour everywhere in Outdoo, including:
- Scorecards on the call page and in roleplay history, including manager scorecards and AI-generated scores
- Score badges and score meters on individual scores and questions
- The score column in the conversations and roleplay history lists
- Performance and coaching tables — heatmaps, comparison cells, improvement cards, and scorecard breakdowns
- Course, batch, and call blitz performance tables
The three bands
Scores are grouped into three bands. Each band has a range and a colour.
Band | Default range (out of 5) | Default colour |
|---|---|---|
Poor | 0 to under 3 | Red |
Mid | 3 to under 4 | Amber |
Good | 4 to 5 | Green |
A few rules apply to any range you ask for:
- Ranges must sit within 0 to 5.
- Each band's lower bound must be below its upper bound.
- The bands must be contiguous — where Poor ends, Mid must begin, and where Mid ends, Good must begin. There can be no gap or overlap between them.
So a stricter grading scheme might be Poor 0 to under 3.5, Mid 3.5 to under 4.5, Good 4.5 to 5. A more forgiving one might be Poor 0 to under 2, Mid 2 to under 3.5, Good 3.5 to 5.
Colours
Each band takes a colour as a hex value, and you can give a different one for light mode and dark mode. This matters in practice — a red that reads well on a white background is often too dark against Outdoo's dark theme, so a slightly lighter shade usually works better there. If you only give us one colour for a band, it's used in both themes.
The defaults are red for Poor, amber for Mid, and green for Good, each with a lighter variant used in dark mode.
Scores shown as a percentage
Some views show a score as a percentage rather than out of 5 — for example, completion and pass rates in performance tables. Those use your custom band colours, but their thresholds are fixed: up to 30% is Poor, up to 70% is Mid, and above 70% is Good. Custom ranges apply to the 0-to-5 call and roleplay scores only.
Company-wide or per person
Colours can be set for the whole workspace, or for an individual person on top of the workspace setting. A personal setting takes precedence over the company one for that person. Most teams want a single company-wide scheme so that everyone reading the same scorecard sees the same thing — tell us which you want when you get in touch.
Changing them later
Changes apply immediately to how scores are displayed. They don't change the scores themselves, and they aren't backdated — a call scored 3.8 keeps its 3.8, it just moves into whichever band the new ranges put it in.
